CRUELTY-FREE FOR MOTHER’S DAY
BECAUSE SHE DESERVES THE BEST - AND THE BEST IS NOT A BREW OF SYNTHETICS. GO CRUELTY-FREE THIS MOTHER'S DAY.
BY BEL JACOBS
You don’t have to see another bunny in a cage to know that cruelty-free beauty is a Good Thing. And by good, I mean good for the bunny, good for the planet and good for the people who use it. Companies who believe in cruelty-free are more likely to use naturally derived, organic ingredients. If 60% of what we apply is absorbed into the bloodstream, it makes sense those products are closer to nature than to petrol.
Here’s a round of some of the best cruelty-free brands out there for Mother’s Day. Because, seriously, she deserves the very best and the very best is not a brew of synthetics blended at the expense of some small furry creature. Good news is that natural beauty and skincare is flourishing like, well, wildflowers on an organic smallholding so if you’re not happy with this selection, there’s lots more. Enjoy. Guiltlessly. PS. Animal testing is now banned in the UK and across the 28 countries of the EU and throughout India and Israel. BUT mainland China (the Chinese territory excluding Hong Kong) requires all foreign cosmetics companies to comply with their animal testing laws in order to sell their products there. This means that any American or European cosmetics brand that wishes to enter the Chinese market must agree to have their products tested on animals. Not only that, but they also pay for these tests.
PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies here allows you to search for cruelty free cosmetics and skincare.
